TILMANSTONE PEOPLE who served in the 1914-18 War:
A framed document in the church of St Andrew, Tilmanstone, lists Tilmanstone people who served in 1914-18 War.
Over the years the list has become faded, damp, and has been re-drawn several times. Some of the information has been lost over the years, but this is the list copied from the present one, with the surnames arranged in A-Z order. Please note: there may be discrepancies in names etc. (some given names are incorrect for instance), due to the way this list was compiled (information from residents) and re-written over the years.

My sincere thanks to Mrs Kathleen Hollingsbee for this transcription. [The Bold highlighting of those who died is mine (DD). Note that Charles NEVES is not listed].
Charles NEVES & “Harry” MARSH were both aged 19 when they enlisted on 10 September 1915 in Dover. Their service numbers in 6th Buffs were consecutive, and they both served with the BEF in France from 9 March 1916.
