As Mr Jos. PODEVIN, keeper of the King's Head
Inn, Dover, about eight o'clock on Thursday night, was going to
Maidstone in company with three other persons, and his horse going
full speed down a little hill, two miles from Ospringe, the animal
ran against a post-chaise which was coming up, the pole of which
entered the horse's chest and immediately killed it. Mr. PODEVIN was
thrown down, and received so much injury as to occasion his death in
less than half an hour afterwards. He has left a wife and two
children to bewail his loss.
